Bettye Ackerman

Bettye Ackerman (b. February 28, 1928 in Cottageville, South Carolina) is an American actress primarily known for her television work. She played Dr. Maggie Graham on the medical drama, Ben Casey, from 1961 until 1966, and married her costar Sam Jaffe. She also played John Bracken's secretary, Anne Frazer on Bracken's World, and played the original Constance MacKenzie on the daytime program Return to Peyton Place. Bettye Ackerman was the wife of the well known actor Sam Jaffe. They were married June 7, 1956. Although there was a 30 + year difference in their ages, they had a very successful and happy marriage until Mr. Jaffe died of cancer in 1984. Ms. Ackerman is also a noted artist who has had numerous exhibits in both Beverly Hills and Columbia, South Carolina where she currently resides.
