Bill Weir is co-anchor of Good Morning America Weekend Edition on ABC. He became co-anchor when the show began on September 4, 2004.

Weir frequently appears on the weekday Good Morning America as a fill-in anchor or correspondent. Weir has received four Emmy Awards. He anchored ABC's breaking news coverage of the launch of the space shuttle Discovery on July 4 2006.

Bill Weir was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has a degree in journalism and creative writing from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

KAAL

Weir began his career in 1991 as a general assistment reporter and weekend sportscaster at KAAL in Austin, Minnesota.

WLUK

Weir next became the sports anchor at WLUK in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

WGN-TV

He briefly worked as a sports reporter before becoming the co-anchor of the WGN Morning News on WGN in Chicago from 1995-1998.

KABC-TV

Weir was sports anchor at KABC-TV in Los Angeles from 1998-2002, where he hosted the popular weekly "Monday Night Live" program.

National Reporter

Immediately before joining ABC, Weir developed, wrote and hosted three television pilots for the USA and FX Networks from 2002-2004.
