The Blake clan were among the most extensive landowners in Connacht in Ireland from the 16th to the 19th century.
Members of this Irish clan were very active in city government, and the ecclesiastical wardenship of County Galway. Sir Richard Blake was the speaker of the Assembly of Confederate Catholics. Principal estates were at Ardfry, Balglunin, Kiltullagh, Menlo, and Renville, all in County Galway.
