Blonde jokes are a class of jokes based on a stereotype of the blonde woman (or, more rarely, blond man) as unintelligent, sexually promiscuous, or both.
Many are simply variations on other racist jokes, sometimes adapted to make them less offensive. Jokes lampooning a particular racial group, ethnicity, or nationality as stupid are told by the English about the Irish, Americans about the Poles, Frisians by Bavarians, Swedes about Norwegians (and vice versa) and so on. Like all humor based on stereotypes, blonde jokes are found offensive by many people, not limited to their target. However, they tend not to be quite as controversial as other forms of racial humor or dark comedy.
A British variant of the blonde joke is the Essex girl, which became popular in the late 1980s, and satirises working-class girls from the county of Essex.
Blonde joke blog meme
On April 17, 2005, a link appeared on several LiveJournal blogs that claimed the "best blonde joke ever" could be read upon clicking a link to another web page, but in fact would lead to another blog claiming the same, which itself would link to another blog yet again. This meme resurfaced in January, 2006, and is a variation on the "how to keep an idiot busy for hours" joke.
