Armenter "Bo Carter" Chatmon was born March 21, 1893 in Bolton, Mississippi & died in Memphis, Tennessee on September 21, 1964. Bo Carter was and still is one of the more popular early blues musicians, who often played in his brothers' band The Mississippi Sheiks. He was popular for recording bawdy songs such as, "Banana in Your Fruit Basket," "Pin in Your Cushion," & "My Pencil Won't Write No More."
