Plot summary

After a few months since the last episode of season 7, Kitty, Donna, and Fez begin recording a tape for Eric to tell him about everything that has happened while he has been gone. While they are recording, Kelso is looking for Hyde, who has gone missing since he saw Kelso with Jackie in an suspicious scene at a motel room.

During the recording, it is revealed that during the months that had passed the gang was caught smoking and all the basement was searched for drugs. In the process, Kitty goes to flush down the hidden stashes only to experiment herself and get caught by Red. Also, Red celebrated the day after Eric left by dancing and breaking one of Eric's Star Wars toys. Red later however admits he does miss his son to Kitty, who secretly hides the recorder near her after Red refuses to say he missed Eric on tape.

While recording, Kitty says she is very sad that he was gone only to be immediately cheered up at the sight of Hyde's return. Kelso quickly runs into Hyde, although Hyde punches Kelso in the face. They make up and become friends again. Soon after Jackie comes in wanting to talk to Hyde hoping to explain the whole mistaken ordeal. Hyde, after so many times in the past refusing to talk about their future or marriage, tells Jackie he does want to get married but in the future. Things look to be back to normal only to be disrupted by the doorbell, in which a girl named Samantha comes in looking for Hyde. Hyde remembers having spent time with Samantha in Las Vegas where he went during his disappearance. Samantha then tells everybody they're married, causing Jackie to run out of the room and leave everybody in shock.
