Bonnie Kathleen Wright (born February 17, 1991) is an English actress, most famous for her role in the Harry Potter films as Ginny Weasley.
Biography
Wright was born in London to Gary Wright and Sheila Teague Wright. She has an older brother, Lewis.Wright enjoys dancing, art, travelling, and playing musical instruments like the piano, recorder and saxophone, as well as sports such as soccer, swimming, tennis, riding, ice skating, cycling and surfing. She gets tutored during filming because she has not finished school.
Career
Wright was originally cast as Ginny Weasley for a small scene in the first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001), set in King's Cross. Her role became more prominent with the second movie, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002), in which Ginny battles with her crush on Harry, the powers of a secret diary, and her own tormented conscience. Wright's role in the third film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), was significantly smaller, leaving her with only one line of dialogue. However, the character became a bonafide supporting character in the fourth film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), with dialogue sprinkled across several scenes and perhaps the most screentime yet. She confirmed at the London premiere of Goblet of Fire that she would be returning for the fifth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, due for release in 2007.[link]Although it has not been announced if she will be reprising her role as Ginny Weasley in the last two Harry Potter films, in recent interviews she has said she is interested in continuing her role.
Wright has also starred in two television movies: 2002's Stranded and 2004's Agatha Christie: A Life in Pictures.
