Booba is a French rapper from Boulogne-Billancourt who began his career in 1994. In 1996 he co-wrote, with Ali (the co-founder of Lunatic (band), argueably the greatest French rap track ever - Le Crime Paie which has become synonymous with French Hip Hop. Lunatic went on to found their own label, 45 Scientifique, and in 2000 released the much vaunted Mauvais Oeil.
In 2002 he produced his first solo album Temps Mort to critical acclaim. He signs to Universal and goes on to release his second solo album Panthéon in 2004. Now, in 2006 he has released "Ouest Side" giving a very positive image of French rap. Booba is probably one of the most recognisable and famous rappers in France right now.
