Bovec is a small alpine town in northwestern Slovenia. One of the 193 municipalities (občine) of Slovenia, its official language is the Slovene language. 136 km from Ljubljana at an altitude of 434 m, Bovec ([[ISO 3166-2:SI|ISO 3166-2 geocode SI-006]]) lies in the Trenta valley of the Julian Alps along the Predil Pass, partially within the Triglav National Park.
Bovec features the source of the river Soča, the 106 m high Boka waterfall, the ski resort Kanin, numerous hotels, and a sport airfield (LJBO).
The population is 1600.
