Bowmore Single Malt
Encyclopedia : B : BO : BOW : Bowmore Single Malt
Bowmore Single Malt is a Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky produced by the Bowmore Distillery in Bowmore, Scotland. Founded in 1779, it is the oldest legal distillery on the isle of Islay. It is owned and operated by Morrison Bowmore, which in turn is owned by Suntory of Japan.
Bowmore is known for producing a wide variety of whiskies of different ages and finishes. While this practice may be considered a marketing ploy rather than an effective technique for improving quality, it has enabled the company to offer an eclectic range of taste and price.
