Brad Kirk Arnold (born September 27, 1978) is the vocalist in the band 3 Doors Down. He also played drums in the band's first studio album The Better Life. He grew up in Escatawpa, Mississippi, and currently lives in Jackson, Mississippi.
Brad had the following to say about his tattoo: "My tattoo is of Jesus hanging on the cross. It's made out of tribal lines. I didn't want it to look like a picture."
When Brad told his father that it was his voice on the CD, his father responded, "Go tell your mamma. She might believe you." He hadn't heard his son sing one word before the band's first CD was released.
He is also the youngest member in the band and when Brad writes songs, he only does it behind the drums, as he feels that this is the only place that he can write songs. He is known to have tried to get rid of his southern accent, but he said it was too hard.
Brad married Terika Roberts on May 15, 2001. Terika and Matt Roberts (guitarist of the band) are related.
3 Doors Down's official website reported that Brad was injured on 2/3/06 in a one car accident (he wasn't driving) in Mississippi. He suffered severe lacerations and bruises to his face but is expected to make a full recovery. 3 Doors Down has cancelled two tour dates as a result.
It was revealed earlier this week Arnold's injuries as caused by the accident was more severe than initially stated. Arnold needed 40 stitches to face and his ear had to be reattached. Bassist Todd Harrell said, "If Brad wasn't wearing his seatbelt, he'd probably be dead now." Arnold's wife, who was driving the car when it hydroplaned, was uninjured.
