Brazil competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney under the IOC country code BRA. It was the eighteenth appearance of the South American nation. After getting the best results ever in 1996, with fifteen medals, including three golds, the Brazilian athletes were disappointing in Australia, winning twelve medals, but no golds.
