"Breed" is a song by Nirvana; it is the fourth song on their 1991 album, Nevermind.

The lyrics were written by Kurt Cobain, and the music by Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl. The song was written about Tad Doyle, lead singer of the band Tad. The original title of the song was "Imodium", after Tad's medication, but was changed due to copyrights.

In addition to appearing on Nevermind:

• a live version appears on the VHS video Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!.
• a live version of the song appears on the live album From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah.
• a rough mix of the song appears on the boxset With the Lights Out.
