Brian A. Britt is Assistant Director of the School of Music, Associate Professor of Music, and Director of The Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band at the University of Oklahoma.
Britt was born in Durant, Oklahoma. He studied at the University of Oklahoma for his bachelor of music education and master of music degrees, then taught for nine years at public schools in Texas and Oklahoma. Britt spent one year as interim associate director of bands at Texas Christian University, and four years as associate director of bands at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he was director of the Lumberjack Marching Band.
Britt was named director of the Pride of Oklahoma in 2001, succeeding Gene Thrailkill, who was director when Britt was an undergraduate member of the Pride himself. Britt has responsibility for all aspects of the band's performance. He also serves as conductor of the OU Symphony Band, and instructs graduate students in marching band administration and techniques. Britt is the faculty advisor for the OU chapters of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma.
