Briar Cudgeon

Lieutenant Briar Cudgeon is a character from the Artemis Fowl series of books.
Cudgeon had been planning to backstab Commander Julius Root and replace him, but was "accidentally" shot by Root, using a finger dart invented by Foaly. The dart's seditive reacted with a brain-enhancing drug he was using and the resulting side effects disfigured his once handsome looks. He then began scheming against the LEP and Root, and with his partner Opal Koboi, he started the B'wa Kell goblin rebellion. They almost defeated the LEP, but were stopped by Artemis Fowl II, Butler, Holly, Root, and Foaly. Cudgeon died when he fell in a plasma tube he had reactivated.
