Bristol Farms is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based Supervalu it has 13 stores in the Southern California market.

History

Bristol farms opened it first store in Rolling Hills Estates,California which was relatively small at only 17,800 square feet it was followed four years later by a larger store in South Pasadena which is 22,500 square feet.The Manhattan Beach store followed after it is one the larger store with 33,900 square feet with a catering facility and cooking school.The company opened its first store in Ventura County at Westlake Village in November 1996 and another in Long Beach in February 1997.Bristol Farms entered the Orange Countymarket during the summer of 1998 they opened a new store in Mission Viejo and Newport Beach. June of 1999 they acquired a famous Hollywood landmark Chalet gourmet, and brought it into Bristol Farms. Soon after they opened a store in Westwoodin the november of 2000 after that they opened a store that serves Beverly Hills and West Los Angeles areas. December of the same year they opened new store thats serves redondo Beachand the South Bay communities.As of right now they have a total of 13 store in the Southern California region.

Acquisition

Bristol Farms was acquired by Albertson's Inc. as of June 2 , 2006 the company became part of Supervalu after the acquisition of Albertson's Inc.
