Brnik Airport (Slovenian: Letališče Brnik), also known as Ljubljana Airport (Slovenian: Aerodrom Ljubljana), is the international airport of Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is located near the village of the same name approximately 26 km north of Ljubljana and 11 km south of Kranj at the road between Kranj and Mengeš. It has a 3,300 metre-long paved runway. The airport was opened on December 24 1963.

Brnik is home to Adria Airways, the Slovenian flag carrier. There are currently two low cost carriers serving the airport: Easyjet and Wizzair. They connect Ljubljana to London Stansted, London Luton and Brussels Charleroi. Other airlines serving the airport include Air France, Czech Airlines, Jat Airways, Malev, Turkish Airlines, Finnair and others.

On December 8 2004, the airport received its first annual millionth passenger. Overall, the airport handled 1,218,896 passengers in 2005. It is by far the most used airport in Slovenia.

The airport is served by a highway exit off the A2 Ljubljana - Karavanke motorway and by bus service connecting it with Ljubljana and Kranj.

Due to fast growing air traffic and Slovenia's entry into the European Union, which requires the separation of traffic into Schengen and non-Schengen, Ljubljana Airport has prepared a plan for the construction of a new passenger terminal. The new terminal will be built in two stages.

The first stage must be completed by the end of July 2007 to accommodate Slovenia's entry into the Schengen zone in October 2007. The work done in the first stage includes a complete renovation of the existing terminal building and its expansion for 4,000 square meters. This will provide the infrastructure needed to ensure the separation of Schengen and non-Schengen passengers.

The second stage includes the construction of a new airport terminal, which will be built next to the existing one and will be connected with the it by a special bridge. The new terminal building will expand over 32,000 square meters, where 40 check-in counters will be set up, including some automatic ones. Luggage will be thoroughly inspected and the installation of three luggage carousels is planned for luggage pick-up. There will be room in the terminal for airlines, travel agencies, restaurants and shops, and there are also plans for business lounges and additional services for passengers. The construction is expected to be completed by 2010.
