Bro-X Minerals Ltd. was a spin off company of The Bre-X Group of Companies. Bro-X was in the process of exploring Sangihe and Sable in North Sulawesi and North Sumatra Indonesia. Although Bro-X was apparently not involved in any fraud like Bre-X Minerals Ltd. was Bro-X did file for bankruptcy. Bre-X claimed to have found between 50 million and 100 million ounces of gold, which was valued at between $25 billion and $50 billion at current gold prices. Bre-X shares went from pennies to more than $250 before splitting 10-for-one.
