Bruce Irvin is a character in the Tekken fighting game series.
History
Tekken 2
Bruce Irvin, an African-American, is highly skilled in the art of Muay Thai. At an early age, Bruce lost his entire family and turned to fighting. During a fighting tournament in Pattani, he was paid to lose a fight, but instead he beat his opponent to death. An enraged bookie sent an assassin after him. Bruce fled by plane, only to meet the assassin and a detective - Lei Wulong's partner. The three started fighting so violently that the plane crashed. Bruce was the only survivor. Kazuya Mishima's men rescued him and Bruce became one of Kazuya's bodyguards. After fighting Lei in Tekken 2, Bruce escaped by plane once again, but the plane exploded.Tekken 5
Many thought that Bruce was dead, but in Tekken 5 it was revealed that, Bruce had been working for several special units, and was currently working as a survival technical guidance instructor. He entered Tekken 5 in order to test his skills once again.Trivia
- In Christie's first pre-fight interlude, Bruce talks with Christie. This came as a surprise to many fans, as both characters have no real connection in the games.
- On his story line he is taunted by Steve Fox: Bruce being a kickboxer and Steve a "real" boxer. The match is proceed by the basis of "kicks vs punches".
- Although Bruce and Bryan Fury share some moves, their style of fighting are completely different, Bryan is more of a Brawler who utilizes Modern KickBoxing, where as Bruce employs the "art of the eight limbs" Muay Thai Kickboxing.
