Bruce Joel Rubin (born March 10, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan in the United States) is a screenwriter best known for the supernatural romance, Ghost for which he won an Oscar. His other writing credits include Deep Impact, Brainstorm, Sleeping with the Enemy, My Life (which he also directed) and Jacob's Ladder (film). He sometimes credited as Derek Saunders or simply Bruce Rubin. He is also interested in spirituality and meditation. He lives with his wife, Blanche, splitting his time between Los Angeles and New York. He has two sons, Josh and Ari.
