Bubble Shooter is a puzzle-shooter game originally developed for Microsoft Windows by Absolutist Games in 2000. It combines the features of puzzle, shooter, strategy and action games. Since 2000 the game has been updated and ported to many computer platforms.
Bubble Shooter Deluxe (version 1.6.) released in April 2004 is the latest version of Bubble Shooter game series released for Windows, Mac, Linux, Pocket PC, Palm OS, Symbian (series 60) and allows adjusting the game settings to the individual computer features.
The point of Bubble Shooter is simple: a player is required to remove all bubbles from the playing field by shooting them with a bubble of the same color. As three or more bubbles of the same color are placed together, they disappear. Upon level completion, i.e. removing all the bubbles from the field, a player may see the so-called bubble fireworks, a number of multicolored bubbles exploding in a manner of firework and procede to the next level.
Interface
A playing field of Bubble Shooter Deluxe is half-filled with multicolored bubbles, which makes a good contrast with the pastel game background. A 2D interface of the game involves pseudo-3d effects creating a vision of genuine bubbles on a computer screen.
Features
One of the game’s notable features is its realistic physics based on the laws of liquid motion. During the game bubbles may wave, change their size, shake and explode. Bubble Shooter Deluxe has a similarity to billiards in the way bubbles are ricocheted from the walls.

Replay mode. Once the level is over, a player may push the R button to launch the replay mode. That will make the current level to be replayed to a player. The function is aimed at helping a player to better understand the rules and come up with their own strategy.
The Bubble Shooter Deluxe can be played in four modes according to player’s preferences and playing pace. Each game mode can be played at four skill levels – Easy Ride, Novice, Expert and Master.
The point to get the highest score in arcade and strategy mode of Bubble Shooter Deluxe is to burst as more bubbles as possible.
Marathon mode contains a special feature a black bubble that cannot be burst. The only way to remove it from the playing field is to make it fall down by bursting the adjacent bubbles.
Sniper mode: when playing this mode, a player is required to remove all bubbles from the board by making as less shots as possible.
Upon the successful game completion players may submit their score on the I-net to the home page of the game at developer’s website.
With the easy-to-learn rules, user-friendly interface and enhanced graphical effects, Bubble Shooter Deluxe is aimed at arousing player’s addiction. Since 2000 games of Bubble Shooter series have been downloaded over 1 mln times. The online version of Bubble Shooter is recommended as a stress-reliever for smokers who want to quit according to Dr. Moos method.
