The Buffalo Bandits are a founding member of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), a professional sports league in North America, since the 1997-1998 season. They play at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York. The Bandits had played in Major Indoor Lacrosse League from 1992 to 1997, prior to that league's transformation into the NLL.
The Bandits enjoyed great success in the 2006 season. They finished first in the East Division. After beating the Rochester Knighthawks in the East Division final, they advanced to the Champion's Cup game, only to lose to the Colorado Mammoth by a score of 16-9 at home.
