Burwood is a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, in the state of Victoria. It is in the Local Government Area of the City of Whitehorse. The most prominent feature of the Burwood landscape is Building C (The Alfred Deakin Building) of Deakin University. The suburb is based around the Burwood Highway on which the Tram 75 runs, from Melbourne to Burwood East. The Allambie Reception Centre for juvenile offenders was located in Burwood. Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers was born and lived here till he was 5 years old.
