Byfield, Massachusetts, USA is a community located about 30 miles north-northeast of Boston on Interstate 95, about 10 miles south of the New Hampshire-Massachusetts border. It is part of the town of Newbury, in Essex County. It was named in 1904 for Colonel Nathaniel Byfield.

Byfield was the home of Governor William Dummer. The town was granted a ZIP Code (01922) and post office following a visit from John F. Kennedy when he was visiting Governor Dummer Academy, a prep school now called The Governor's Academy located in Byfield near Massachusetts State Route 1. Byfield houses Triton Regional High School, an arts centre, and Pearson's deer farm. There are no stop lights and it is a very quiet town. The Byfield Snuff Co. was a successful business at the beginning of the twentieth century. The most exciting part of Byfield occurs during the first weekend in June when "Byfield Days" take place. A Miss Byfield is crowned along with other amusing activities.
