Encyclopedia : C : C1 : C12 : C-120 Packplane
The XC-120 was a related development to the C-119 Flying Boxcar in the late 1940's. A C-119 fuselage was cut down to just below the flight deck and a removable pod designed to fit in its place. Smaller wheels were installed forward of each of the main landing gear struts to provide for nose wheels. Production aircraft were to be designated C-128. In the event, only one XC-120 was built and tested and no C-128s were made.
