C-Town (nickname)

C-Town is a nickname for Cleveland, Ohio. It was created by Cleveland rap groups Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and the Mo Thugs Family in 1997.

Its morphology is derived by taking the first letter from Cleveland, C, and adding to it the word "town," which Cleveland certainly is.

Popular sports personalities such as Jim Rome frequently refer to the city in this fashion.

"Da 'Land" is also a common name for Cleveland. It has recently become a smash with surrounding areas but has always been around for Cleveland natives.

C-Town is also a local nickname for Campbell, California, which is located in the Bay Area
