CHUM-FM

CHUM-FM is a Canadian radio station licensed to Toronto, Ontario and operated by CHUM Limited. It broadcasts at 104.5 MHz with a hot adult contemporary format, which evolved out of an album-oriented rock format in the 1980s.
Particularly in the 2000s, CHUM-FM's playlist has been noticeably more open to periodic, carefully-selected urban contemporary crossover songs, including rhythm and blues, reggae, and hip hop music than most United States hot adult contemporary stations. Britpop and Europop influences are also subtly more pronounced. Thus, by U.S. standards, CHUM-FM could be considered an Adult CHR. The closest local competition within the format comes from Mix 99.9, a hot adult contemporary station which generally leans towards slightly more and slightly harder rock music than CHUM-FM.
CHUM-FM is consistently one of Toronto's most popular stations in the BBM radio ratings. Roger Ashby, Rick Hodge and Marilyn Denis, longtime morning hosts as Roger, Rick and Marilyn, are among the best-known broadcasters in Toronto.
In the mid-2000s, CHUM-FM adopted the CHUM Chart brand, long used by its AM sister station CHUM, for its weekly countdown, hosted by Cory Kimm. A television edition of the countdown, with music videos, is seen weekends on co-owned Citytv.
