C Michael Armstrong

C Michael Armstong (born October 18, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan) is the former AT&T chairman and CEO, who tried to reestablish AT&T as an end-to-end carier. Unfortunately, due to the dot.com boom and various other issues, he was forced to break the group up in 2001.
He is also the former CEO of Hughes Electronics, Comcast Corporation & AT&T. Worked for IBM from 1961 to 1992. Director of Citigroup, 1989 to present. Mr. Armstrong is a member of the Alfalfa Club and the Council on Foreign Relations. He received his BS in Business at Miami University in 1961.

- 1983–1986: IBM Senior vice president and group executive for IBM Information Systems and Communications Group

- 1987–1988: IBM President director general of IBM Europe and CEO of EMEA
- 1988–1992: GM Corp President and chairman of EMEA
- 1992–1997: Hughes Electronics, Chairman and CEO
- 1997-2002: AT&T Chairman
- 2002-2003: Comcast Executive Chairman
- 2002-2004: Comcast Non-Executive Chairman
