The planet was represented in the Galactic Senate by Eeshrin Ot'Hyne, whom opposed the Military Creation Act. Caamas remained loyal to the Republic during the Clone Wars.
The Empire had the planet bombarded 19 BBY with the aid of the Bothan spynet, shortly after the Clone Wars. Many survivors fled to Alderaan and Kerilt. Under the New Republic, a few Caamasi founded Refuge City on Caamas. A herdship also crashed on Caamas, and a xenotic rainforest of plants from Ithor took root on one continent.
