The Cabana District (Spanish: Distrito de Cabana) is one of eleven districts of the Pallasca Province in Ancash Region, Peru. Its capital city, Cabana, is birthplace of the current President of Peru Alejandro Toledo Manrique. The District was formed on January 2, 1857.
The Cabana District is home to a number of important cultural heritage sites, including the FortÃn de los Pashas, which is believed to be the center of the military and religious life of the indigenous Conchucos people and home of the cult image of Katequilla, worshipped by both the Conchucos and the Huamachucos. The District is also home to the ruins at Mashonga.
The patron saints of Cabana District are Saint James the Great (Santiago el Mayor) and Philip the Apostle (San Felipe); both are celebrated on the Saint's Day holiday on July 25.
