Cabramatta railway station, Sydney
Encyclopedia : C : CA : CAB : Cabramatta railway station, Sydney
Cabramatta is a junction station on the CityRail network where the South line and Inner West line merge. The station has two side platforms, with a ramp connecting the two platforms.
The junction has been upgraded in recent years from a low speed one to a medium speed junction with 70 or 80km/h in all directions. To make the higher speeds possible, the track centres have had to be widened from 4m at the platforms to about 12m at the diamond crossing at the heart of the junction. Longer switches have also had to be installed.
