Calatafimi-Segesta
Encyclopedia : C : CA : CAL : Calatafimi-Segesta
Calatafimi-Segesta is a small town in the Province of Trapani, in Sicily, Italy.
The official name of the municipality honours the presence of the ruins of the old Greek city of Segesta, including the old amphitheatre, into the town's territory.
It was here where, in 1860, Giuseppe Garibaldi first encountered the Bourbons troops on a battlefield (see the Battle of Calatafimi).
