Cambridge Airport is a small regional airport located in south-eastern England, near the village of Teversham, 1.5 miles from Cambridge City Centre and approximately 50 miles from London. It is also called Cambridge City Airport.

The airport is owned and operated by Marshall Aerospace, a Cambridge based company with many years' history servicing civilian and military contracts.

Although the airport does not offer regular passenger services it is available for corporate and private use, and is home to two flying schools.

Future

There has been a great deal of speculation in the past five years regarding the future of Cambridge Airport. The city is surrounded by large areas of greenbelt land which prohibits new housing and building land in the city is at a premium. In 2000 it was proposed to relocate the airport to a new home away from the city, freeing up 500 acres (2 km²) of land for the building of several thousand new homes. A study was undertaken by Cambridgeshire County Council and planning permission was requested but subsequently withdrawn for a new airport, but at the time of writing (August 2005) no formal plans have been announced.
