Canyon Lakes Ranger District

The Canyon Lakes Ranger District is part of the [Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest and Pawnee National Grassland], specifically on the Roosevelt National Forest. It is located in north-central Colorado in Larimer County and encompasses 650,022 acres.
A variety of recreation opportunites exist on the district, along with many traditional uses such as firewood gathering and grazing. The Canyon Lakes Ranger District is home to four wilderness areas (Cache la Poudre Wilderness, Rawah Wilderness, Comanche Peak Wilderness and Neota Wilderness), three national recreation trails, two historic districts and Colorado's only Wild and Scenic River the Poudre River. Colorado state highways 34, 36 and 14 provide access to this area.
