Capacity may mean one of the following:
- The capacity of a container is the amount of fluid it can contain, close to its volume
- Capacity is used to indicate the quantity of electricity stored on each plate of a battery or capacitor
- Legal capacity refers to the legal ability to engage in certain acts, such as making a contract
- Cranial capacity is a measure of the volume of the interior of the skull
- Carrying capacity, in ecology, is the ability of an environment to sustain a particular species
- Heat capacity, also called thermal capacity, is the ability of matter to store heat.
- Toxic capacity is the ability of an organism, organic system or ecosystem to sustain introduction of a toxin.
- A large capacity magazine is an ammunition feeding device for use in a firearm that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
- Analytic capacity is a mathematical function.
- Seating capacity refers to the number of people who can be seated in a venue, either in terms of the space available, or in terms of limitations set by law.
- Color rendering capacity, in photometry, is a measure of how broad a color space can be perceived under the illumination of a specific light.
- Capacity utilization is a term in economics referring to the relationship of actual to potential output of industries.
