Carpet Football
Encyclopedia : C : CA : CAR : Carpet Football
In football (soccer), Carpet Football is where the players weave their passes from foot to foot.
It gains its name from the fact that the ball rarely leaves the ground (where a carpet is normally in a room).
Brazil and Argentina are widely traditionaly considered and the best teams to perform this type of play. A good example of this style of play resulting in a goal is Esteban Cambiasso's goal in Argentina's game against Serbia and Montenegro in the 2006 World Cup, which was the result of 24 consecutive passes between members of the Argentine team.
