Encyclopedia : C : CA : CAR : Carrie Olver
Carrie (born 1967) is a native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and is the daughter of broadcaster Fergie Oliver. She grew up in Toronto, while her parents worked at CFTO-TV; her father worked on Toronto Blue Jays telecasts, and a game show called Just Like Mom, where Carrie often introduced the contestants.
Prior to her position at TWM, Carrie hosted Spectacular Spas, a fun half hour travel program where she would travel the world over and visit some of the top spas on Earth. Often, she would find herself in a bikini for some swimming, on a massage table for a world class treatment or eating meals prepared by a gourmet chef. Carrie was nominated for a Gemini Award in 2003 for the program in the Best Host or Interviewer in a Lifestyle/General Interest Program or Series category, but sadly, lost to Debbie Travis.
