CatDog is an American animated television series on Nickelodeon, created by Peter Hannan. It premiered on October 5, 1998, and tells the story of two brothers; the suave, intelligent Cat and dumb, optimistic Dog, who share the same body. It was cancelled by Nickelodeon in 2001, according to IMDb.
CatDog was separated from their parents (a frog and a sasquatch-like creature), by a tornado. CatDog reunited with their parents in the TV movie, .
CatDog live in a house shaped like a fish and a bone in the town of Nearburg, which is shared with Winslow Oddfellow, a blue mouse with a wiseguy attitude who constantly torments them.
CatDog always gets into trouble with the Greasers. The gang is formed by three dogs, the boss is Cliff, the other two followers are Lube (dumb dog, talented mechanic (See "Lube in Love") and Shriek (the female who has a slight crush on Dog), this is an obvious reference to the gang the Greasers in the book The Outsiders.
The show was never particularly popular, though it had a decent-sized fanbase, particularly among younger kids and pre-teens during its initial run. It was still occasionally re-run on Nickelodeon and NickToons TV. CatDog has appeared on Nicktoons Caught on Tape. The show, like many other 1990s shows, has not been released on DVD, and it is unknown if it will be.
