Catherine Disher

Catherine Disher is a Canadian actress who won the Gemini Award for Best Actress for role in the Canadian mini-series Snakes & Ladders [link], and was nominated for her role in the Forever Knight TV series.

She also starred in the second season of the War of the Worlds series. She was the voice of Jean Grey/Phoenix in the X-Men animated cartoon series, which ran from 1992 to 1997. In addition to the X-Men cartoon, she has also been the voice actor for Jill Valentine in for the wildly popular Resident Evil video game series released in 1999.

She was a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal.

Disher also provided the voice of the Penelope Lang character in the Teletoon/Cartoon Network animated television series Atomic Betty.

She was formerly married to Cedric Smith (her co-star on X-men), actor and singer (he played and sang with the legendary Canadian group, Perth County Conspiracy.)
