The Cebu City National Science High School was founded in 1970. A brain child of the then DECS director Aurelio Tiro, “Science High”, as the school is popularly known, specializes in Science and Mathematics and offers four-year high school scholarships to deserving students. The school is funded by the national government although the students do not get a stipend.

The school’s vision has always been “to produce students or graduates who are knowledgeable and skillful in science, mathematics and English, imbued with proper values to become useful and productive citizens of the country.”

In pursuing their thrust, Science High is very active in their Science and Math clubs and is also an active member of the Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs. All the students are members of the Science Club because of the curriculum.
