Centavia (Central European Aviation) is the first low cost airline in Serbia.

It's hub airport is Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport in Serbia while its technical base is Cologne Bonn Airport in Germany. The airline commenced first flights on July 8, 2006 and will try to expand its network as time goes by.

Predrag Vujović is the company's director. He was the former director of Jat Airways, the country's national airline.

History

Centavia was found in 2006 and received its first aircraft, BAe 146-200, on 15th June 2006 from Meridiana. The aircraft is re-registered as YU-AGL and re-painted with Centavia's livery.

Centavia commenced its first maiden flight on July 8th 2006 to Corfu which departed Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport as flight CNA 800 at 11:30AM and return back at 3:00PM as flight CNA 801. Later that day another flight CNA 702 left Belgrade at 4:45PM but this time bound for Bodrum and return back at 9:50PM as flight CNA 701.

Note: These are chartered destinations to transport passengers for multiple tourist agencies. As of September 2006 normal scheduled service with a scheduled timetable starts.

These are destinations that the airline has announced as future routes (most likely to commence in September 2006)

Current Events

Since its successful first commercial flight, Centavia is facing a tough political opposition headed by Serbia's national airline JAT Airways and the current Minister of Capital Investment in Serbian government, trying to withdraw the AOC from Centavia by all means.
