Cesare Maldini

Cesare Maldini (born February 5, 1932) is an Italian football coach and former player. His son, Paolo Maldini, is also an accomplished professional footballer, who won the European Cup 40 years after his father had done the same.
Biography
Maldini was born in Trieste, Venezia Giulia.He won the European Cup with A.C. Milan in 1963. He served as an assistant coach on the 1982 FIFA World Cup-winning Italian side.
He coached the Italian Under-21 side for ten years, winning the European Under-21 Football Championship on the tournament record of three occasions. He was then called up to lead the senior natonal team, and helped the team qualify for the World Cup in 1998, where Italy was eliminated by France on penalties in the fourth round stage. After leaving the Italian side due to mounting media pressure, Maldini was called to lead Paraguay's national team to the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan. After exiting the competition, the experienced coach returned to A.C. Milan as a scout for young talent for the Rossoneri.
