Chabbewal

Chabbewal (also spelled Chebbewal) is a village in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India, with a population of 5000.

Chabbewal is a major shopping center, attracting people from neighboring villages. Regular buses going to and coming from other cities, have made it a major bus station for villagers from and out of Chabbewal.Chabbewal has 5 high schools and 1 girls college.The main clan in Chabbewal is Jhutty. Lots of people have migrated to countries like U.K, Canada,U.SA, and more.Chabbewal is a very well established village with many past and present political figures. Chabbewal also produced many soldiers who served for India in many wars.One very popular face to come out of Chabbewal is Chaudary Kartar Singh. He was a former mayor of the village and he done lots for Chabbewal like making Chabbewal well known in Punjab.Chabbewal also has many gurdwaras and produced many football players for the state. One other famous face is Brigadier Surinder Singh who has served for the country for military.
