Champaran was once an administrative district in the state of Bihar in India. It has been bifurcated into two smaller districts:

• East Champaran
• West Champaran

Babu Ram Autar Sah, a brave, patriotic Congress worker was shot dead by the tommies in 1942. He died a martyr's death. He did his duty to the country but we should also do our duty to his memory. We owe it to our dead departed friend & co. worker. He does not require our help but whatever memorial we would establish in his memory will be for our own benefit. The people of Champaran and particularly people of Mehsi should come forward to establish some memorial in his memory and contribute generously towards it.
