Encyclopedia : C : CH : CHA : Characters of the Brotherhood of Nod

This page lists the characters of the Brotherhood of Nod, one of the primary factions in the of Westwood Studios' popular Command & Conquer series of computer and video games.

Kane

Kane

Kane is the enigmatic leader of the Brotherhood of Nod. He positions himself as a prophet and controls the Brotherhood with an iron fist. Kane claims to have discovered Tiberium and personally oversees the Brotherhood's research into that substance. He was believed killed at the end of Tiberian Dawn, but returned in Tiberian Sun and easily restablished control over the Brotherhood of Nod.

In addition to featuring in the Tiberian Series, Kane also appears in as an advisor to Josef Stalin. The character is played by Joseph D. Kucan.

Seth

Seth is Kane's "right hand man", and the first character the player encounters whilst playing the Nod campaign. He takes his name from the biblical Seth, the third son of Adam. Seth is eventually killed by Kane after he attempts to take control of the Brotherhood. The character is played by Eric Gooch, who also worked on Command & Conquer as a 3D artist.

In Renegade, it is revealed that instead of simply being disposed of in some manner, his corpse is kept perfectly preserved inside of a machine, as a warning to anyone who would dare circumvent Kane's authority.

His most famous qoute is: "I'm Seth. Just Seth."

Greg Burdette

Greg Burdette is a news reporter who covers several stories relating to the events of Command & Conquer. He is first seen in the game's introduction, reporting from a GDI aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean sea. He later makes an important report on the slaughter of civillians in a "peaceful farming village" in Eastern Europe. Working for Kane and the Brotherhood of Nod, Burdette succeeds in falsely blaming GDI for the massacre. The international uproar caused by the report leads to a UN investigation and a severe cut in GDI funding (although this is later shown to have been orchestrated by GDI to make Kane let his guard down). It should be noted that Burdette's body language in an in-game cut scene suggests that he is not actually a member of the Brotherhood of Nod, but has been coerced in some way. The character is played by Eric Randall.

Command & Conquer: Renegade is a

General Gideon Raveshaw

The leader of Nod's elite "Black Hand" assassination unit, he was responsible for "Project ReGenesis". He was eventually transformed into a Tiberium-enhanced supersoldier before being killed by Havoc, a GDI commando.

In his normal form he is very short and of small stature, for which Havoc gives him the monkier "Peewee". The aforementioned ReGenesis enhancement made him significantly taller, larger, stronger and tougher than everyone else, but rendered him incapable of thinking for himself.

Mendoza

An ex-mercenary who came to Nod after his tactics became too extreme even for the extremists he was working for. He had a longstanding grudge with Havoc in-game that ended when Havoc killed him by destroying the flamethrower equipment on his back and subsequently setting him on fire.

Sakura Obata

Rumured to have been brought up in the Yakuza, Sakura was a mercenary who originally operated for the CIA before siding with GDI, as a member of the "Dead Six" before being lured by Nod's bank accounts. She was Havoc's love interest in the game. Sakura switched sides again, when Raveshaw ordered Mendoza to kill her along with Havoc, and wound up aiding Havoc for the remainder of the game.

Her preferred method of transportation is a custom Nod RAH-66 Comanche.

Dr. Elena Petrova

A former colleague of Dr. Moebius, Dr. Petrova was later to be found as a Nod agent. She tries to use Tiberium to create genetically-enhanced Nod supersoldiers, and later enhances herself using the technology.

Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun is set thirty years after the events of Tiberian Dawn. Kane returns as the leader of the Brotherhood of Nod, surrounded by a whole new cast of characters.

After a thirty year absence from his followers Kane finally remerged in Tiberian Sun. He had undergone some aesthetic changes, the most noticeable of which were the burns and disfiguration around the right side of his face which are believed to be scars from the Ion Cannon strike that obliterated the Temple of Nod in Tiberian Dawn. Kane’s reapparence was met with much joy from the followers of the Brotherhood, and disbelief from members of the Global Defense Intitative.

In addition to featuring in the Tiberian Series, Kane also appears in as an advisor to Josef Stalin. The character is played by Joseph D. Kucan.

Commander Anton Slavik

A Nod Commander with a reputation for ruthlessness, Slavik runs the Black Hand and is one of the main Nod generals who helped to reunite the Brotherhood. He was part of a group of Serbian terrorists before joining the Brotherhood, being known as "The Serbian Wolf". He eventually rose to be the most important of Kane's generals.

Slavik is played by Frank Zagarino.

Oxanna Kristos

A Nod propaganda specialist and member of the Black Hand, she is Slavik's second in command. It was her fast rescue that saved Slavik's life at the start of Tiberian Sun. Her name suggests that she may be Greek, but that information is never presented in the game.

Oxanna is portrayed by Canadian actress Monika Schnarre.

General Vega

The Nod general responsible for South American forces in the Second Tiberium War, he deals in the drug "Eye Candy". He angers Kane after he uses and then crashes a Top Secret vessel of Scrin origin. Before he can be captured by McNeil, he takes an overdose of Eye Candy, and his temple is destroyed by Kane with a nuclear strike.

Vega is portrayed by Francesco Quinn

General Hassan

The Nod general responsible for African forces, he is "The man who would be pharaoh". He is in fact under the influence of GDI's General Solomon, and is killed by General Slavik after his escape.

Hassan is portrayed by Adoni Maropis.

General Marzaq

The most powerful member of the Inner Circle of Nod, he does not trust Slavik. He is eventually killed by CABAL.

Marzaq is played by Nicholas Worth.

The Inner Circle

A group of Nod's most powerful generals, dominated by General Marzaq. They are all killed by CABAL. Only General Anton Slavik escapes.
