Charles Blühdorn (September 20,1926-February 20,1983) was an Austrian-born American industrialist.

Blüdhorn took a run-down Michigan auto parts distributor and built it into Gulf and Western Industries, a $2 billion marvel whose activities ranged from mining (New Jersey Zinc) to movies (Paramount Pictures). By 1969, the former $15-a-week clek was worth $50 million. Blüdhorn was known to be an incredibly energetic man, and maintained his position as chairman of Gulf and Western Industries until his death.
