Charles Dodge

Charles Dodge (b. Ames, Iowa, June 5, 1942) is an American composer best known for his electronic music. He is a former student of Darius Milhaud, Gunther Schuller.

He co-wrote Computer Music: Synthesis, Composition, and Performance, ISBN 0028646827.

His best known piece is the Earth's Magnetic Field (1970). He is also well known for composing Any Resemblance is Purely Coincidental, a work for Tape and Piano. The work is notable in that it combines a taped performance of "Vesti la giubba," sung by Enrico Caruso, with a live piano performance.
