Charles Grant (born September 3, 1978) is an American Football player who currently plays Defensive End for the New Orleans Saints of the NFL. PRO

Career Stats

Saints Making A Difference: Grant has wasted little time in becoming a fixture in the Saints' community relations efforts. Each off-season, he has a free football clinic at his hometown of Colquitt, Ga., and he visits local school children almost every week of the season. This past offseason he was engaged in several community service projects to assist Hurricane Katrina evacuees in San Antonio. In November Grant and Tony Bryant escorted a New Orleans elementary school student from New Orleans to his school in Houston for a day. The defensive end led all players in community service appearances in 2004, and in 2003 was the biggest financial contributor to Belle Chasse Naval Academy's fundraiser to improve the playground conditions and purchase new books for the library

After just four years, Grant has emerged as a key member and leader of the club's defense. He recorded 75 tackles, 2.5 sacks, recovered a fumble and deflected a pass in 2005. In his career, Grant has started 52 of 64 games and has 285 stops (200 solo), 30 sacks, 14 passes defensed, 10 forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. Grant's seven sacks in 2002 were the fourth-highest total for a Saints rookie, and he recorded 20.5 sacks from 2003-04. He was the second of two first-round picks (25th overall) for New Orleans in 2002, following WR Donte' Stallworth (13th overall).
