Che Fu (born Che Rauhihi-Ness) is a Māori-Niuean hip hop, R&B, and reggae vocalist.
History
Che Fu (Che Ness) is one of New Zealand's most successful male vocalists, who began his music career at high school with a group of friends. They formed the Low Down Dirty Blues Band, but would go on to change their name to Supergroove. Their debut album ''Traction' sold triple platinum and went on to win countless awards.Che Fu parted ways with Supergroove in 1996. One week after he left the group he went on to #1 success with DLT and the single Chains.
In 1997 Che Fu released his debut solo album 2b S.Pacific with SonyBMG. At the 1997 New Zealand Music Awards Che Fu received Single of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and the prestigious Male Vocalist of the Year.
Che Fu then signed to Sony Music and began work for his next album Navigator. He also formed an eight piece live band called The Krates. Together Che and The Krates spent the summer performing new material at such events as Big Day Out and Pacifika.
Che Fu is son of one New Zealand's founding reggae musicians, Unity Pacific (Tigilau Ness). Tigilau often accompanies Che as a member of The Krates.
