Cheaper by the Dozen is a 2003 American comedy-drama film about a family of fourteen, including the parents. It features a family of twelve children (seven boys and five girls). The screenplay was written by Craig Titley (screen story), Sam Harper, Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow; the title was borrowed from the biography Cheaper by the Dozen by Frank Bunker Gilbreth and Lillian Moller Gilbreth, but other than the title and the concept, the film bears no resemblance to the book. The film is directed by Shawn Levy who helped produce the sequel Cheaper by the Dozen 2.
